A family favorite. Yearly tradition. Great community-run spot. Hot showers, great beach access.
T8 T9 are the best places to camp, but be ready for the journey up some questionable long stairs. Can hear the water and all nature has to offer from those sites though. The beach could be better but it's still pretty nice, with great views of the sunset. Nice people pretty quiet but my neighbor site was empty though sites do sit pretty close especially for the RVs but overall for the money this place is great. Also showers are pretty nice for a campground and also nice hot water. Beautiful place will be returning here more often!!!
Still, untill I grow that Simpsons-fish-third-eye, I'll be there for the sunsets and swimming.
We ended up staying here for tent camping last minute when VanBuren was full.
Love this place. Look forward to bringing my gf and son here. The beach is awesome. Nice people running the place. Only reason can't give 5 stars is for the white trash partiers that absolutely cannot control themselves. Noisy late into the night many times. Take that away, and the place is perfect in my book.
What's that plume of steam over the hill, you ask? None other than the local NUCLEAR REACTOR. NOT KIDDING. Also seems the beach is eroding drastically.
Pros: smaller campground, close to the beach and no night patrol so you can easily get to the beach at night and hang out. There are some great rustic spots, lots of shade throughout, nice staff, close, bathrooms, nice camp store, the beach is really pretty here.
Absolutely love this place! Great views, both primitive and (for the likes of me) non-primitive camp sites with water and power, kayaks, and a private beach with one beautiful sunset. It was a great week of camping and worth every second. We will definitely be back! Lastly, my wife lost her credit card there and they called my wife and offered to mail it back to her. That was a great vacation!
Cons: camp spots are very close to each other and some are quite small. Thankfully we had quiet neighbors! Bathrooms are kinda meh, shower seemed moldy and needed better ventilation. No big dunes.
